The Kiss by Gustav Klimt
Hello friends, today we want to show you one of the last works we have done in copying. It’s Gustav Klimt’s “The Kiss”.
Before telling you a little about how we have done this work, I wanted to tell you that one of the attractions of this profession is that, not only do you make clients, but in the end you have friends, and this great person, Dr. Carlos Gómez Lebrón, is already one of them. From the moment he called us to do this assignment, we realized that he was someone special and in himself, an artist. We have been proud to work for you, and hope to continue to do so in the future, a big hug Carlos, and another for Maria.
And having said this, I’ll tell you a little bit about how we do this work. You know that “The Kiss”, perhaps his most famous work, belongs to his golden age, influenced by the Byzantine mosaics he had seen on his many travels. Klimt used gold and silver leaf in various shades, embossed tin foils that he glued to the canvas, and of course all oil-painted. We had to study in depth the photographic material we had, the truth is that it was laborious but not difficult, and I have to say that it was quite an experience. The work attracts attention for all these reasons, but to tell you the size of it, we made it in 180×180 cm, the truth is that it impresses when you have it in front of you.
And nothing more, we put you some photos of its realization and its location.
Thank you very much.
