The Dancing Class by Edgar Degas
Oil on canvas reproduction of “The Dancing Class”, a work Degas painted in 1870. It was his first painting in which he performed a dance class, he has done it in his studio. From this painting onwards, a musician friend introduced him behind the scenes of the “Théâtre de l’Opéra” in Paris. From here on, the dancers will be the main theme of their work.
The work is housed in the “Metropolitan Museum of Art” in New York.
The original measures 19.7 x 27 cm.
