Starry Night over the Rhône is an oil on canvas and one of Van Gogh’s most famous paintings.
It was the third painting in which he painted a starry sky, but in this one, it occupies the main part of the composition. The first painting that paints the starry night sky was Terrace of a café at night, the second was The Poet Eugéne Boch.
He painted it in 1888 and it is in the Musée d’Orsay.
Van Gogh was attracted to the night lights, he also painted The Starry Night, an emblematic work.
