Sewing the Sail by Sorolla
Oil reproduction on canvas of “Sewing the Sail”, a work painted by Joaquín Sorolla in 1896.
After successfully exhibiting it in Paris, Munich and Vienna, Sorolla sent this painting to the National Exhibition in Madrid in 1899, and the public did not like it at all. People did not understand at that time how a piece of cloth could be the main motif in the composition.
The original, large format, has dimensions of 222 x 300 cm.
