The Milkmaid – Johannes Vermeer
Oil on canvas reproduction of The Milkmaid by Vermeer.
In this Vermeer masterpiece, there’s a maid serving milk, dressed in Vermeer’s favorite and complementary colors, ultramarine blue and orange-yellow.
Vermeer manages the light that enters through the window and hits all objects, in a masterly way.
Vermeer’s work has always been difficult to date because of the lack of information about this Baroque artist. The milkmaid was painted between 1657 and 1660.
It is located in the Rijksmuseum, also called the National Museum of Amsterdam.
The work is small in size, measuring 45.5 x 41 cm.
In Copiamuseo you have it available in several other sizes, made faithfully and on high quality linen canvas.
