The lady with the ermine

Today we would like to show you the oil reproduction on canvas of Leonardo da Vinci’s The Lady with the Ermine, in similar sizes to the original.

The painting has been made with three glazes, chromatically ignoring the extremely yellow tones of the versions that circulate on the Internet.

We show you the original with its real tones and the reproduction made by Copiamuseo.

Some historical details

“Lady with an Ermine” is one of the four portraits Leonardo da Vinci painted in his life, unless they are known to him.

It is Cecilia Gallerani, the young lover of the governor of Milan, Ludovico Sforza, between 1488 and 1490, which is when Leonardo painted this work.

It belonged to the Czartoryski collection which was acquired by the Polish government for one hundred million euros, the market value of this collection being valued at 2000 million euros.
