Art in your home
Eugen Dücker was a landscape painter. He was born in Kuressaare, capital of Saaremaa, an island in Estonia, in 1841, and died in 1916. He developed his professional career throughout his life in Düsseldorf as a teacher at the “School of Painting”, although most of his landscapes were from Estonia, landscapes of the sea and the countryside. Because of his way of painting, certainly academic, and his way of teaching, he influenced schools in northern Europe and national schools in Russia. The term Dücker horizon was coined, since in its marinas, the horizon was relatively low.
