Danaë by Gustav Klimt

Reproduction in oil and gold leaf of “Danaë”, nude that Gustav Klimt painted in 1907.

The painting depicts Danaë, daughter of Acrisius, characters from Greek mythology. To find out if he was going to be a grandfather, Acrisius consulted an oracle, who told him that he would be killed by his daughter’s son, so out of fear, he locked her in a cave so that she could not procreate. Although Zeus made her pregnant, appearing in the form of golden rain. And so Perseus was born.

It is a work charged with a certain sensuality. It belongs to a private collection.

The original is made in oil on canvas and gold. In Copiamuseo we made it with the same technique used by Gustav Klimt.

It measures 77 x 83 cm.
Copiamuseo is available in several sizes, if you do not find the one you need, please contact us by clicking here.
